Hardware Number

The
hardware number is an information in the form xxxx-xxxx which is generated
combining characteristics from several hardware components of the
computer. This information is used for the security mechanism of our
products. To retrieve this number start the program STMachineID.exe. Note:
If your computer has more than one hard disk, and you have SPIRIT
installations on both drives, you will get different hardware numbers. |

Backup/Restore
User files |
The
installation process of any SPIRIT version will copy all 'user-definable'
files with the system's default values. To keep the personal settings it
is required to backup these user-definable files first and to restore them
into the new installation. Note: The folder
structure from version 12 to 14 changed completely. Especially for the
upgrade from v12 to v14 the utility will be very helpful. Download
the program SpiritBackupCopy.exe
here. |

In some cases it is necessary to extend the trial period
of a 30 day trial version. In such a case the SPIRIT executable has
to be overwritten.
Note: This is nothing what you should do without
the special instructions from our support otherwise your version will not
run anymore.
